So today with an hour to go in my work day yesterday, I was greeted by some very bad and shocking news. On a day I was excited to go home and get ready for friends to come for poker night, I find out from one of my poker buddies and former co-worker that the wife of another former co-worker and friend died. This guy was only a year or so younger than I am so shocked does not begin to explain my reaction or feelings. My friend said he would not be able to make it poker as he was going to take him home, which I fully understood, Details were scarce at best so I left work with a lot on my mind, wondering what the hell happened. I spend the next hour or two telling other former co-workers of the news as best I can with the little knowledge I had. All I could do was promise to let them know more as I became aware of the details.
